Welcome! I’m Karen Daniel, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee, now living in Raleigh, North Carolina. Thank you for visiting my website. My prayers and best wishes go out to you and to people around the world for healing and strength. It is my hope that my music can in some small way help bring calm, hope and joy in these troubled times.

I’m known for my catchy, very singable songs for children (of all ages), including the Teachable, Singable and Jewish series.

You can now listen to my new song, “You Are the Shofar,” inspired by and lyrics co-written by well-known poet and storyteller Jennifer Rudick Zunikoff.  We hope you will include this song in your high holiday teaching and services.

I have just released a new album, More Teachable, Singable and Jewish Songs, and you can listen to and buy the CD here.

I also sing and write songs in the folk, bluegrass, spiritual and country genres. I play a beautiful Martin guitar dated 1997 and a fun new smaller size Seagull guitar!

I currently teach music to preschoolers at the Beth Meyer Preschool in Raleigh.  In the photos below, you can see me singing with the 4-5 year olds, and then doing Bye Bye Butterfly and Take Care Polar Bear at the end of class. Our favorite song is one I wrote, called, “Hello, Everybody”!  Email me at danielkare@aol.com for sheet music!

I will be presenting a session at NewCAJE 13: What I learned from teaching music in a preschool!
